Manitoba Virtual Therapy Program – Government of Manitoba

Caring for your mental health is important during the COVID-19 pandemic. AbilitiCBT is a new digital therapy program from Morneau Shepell, available to all residents of Manitoba age 16 or older experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety due to the pandemic.

You do not need to be referred by a doctor to use AbiltiCBT. You will be able to connect to a professional therapist trained to help you deal with:

  • Pandemic Challenges
  • The State of Uncertainty
  • Physical Isolation
  • Care for Family and Community Members
  • Information Overload
  • Stress Management

Who can access Seniors Mental Health?
Seniors Mental Health provides assessment, consultation and treatment for mental health problems that are most commonly associated with aging. We can help clarify concerns about mental health issues and provide linkage with the most appropriate resource.

The most common concerns are often related to the onset of or changes in psychiatric conditions such as cognitive disorders (dementia), anxiety disorders or major depression.

We can assess and help with concerns related to:

  • Memory loss
  • Increased confusion
  • Challenging behaviours
  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Problems related to substance use/gambling
  • Elder Abuse or vulnerability
  • Care-giving concerns
  • Questions of risk or safety
  • Coping strategies
  • Social isolation/withdrawal
  • Impact of multiple losses
  • Environmental modifications
  • Ongoing treatment and follow-up

It is important to discuss concerns with your local health care provider.

Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM)

Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM) is a self-help organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy to for those living with a mood disorder, co-occurring disorders or other mental health illnesses. We increase public awareness about mood disorders and empower people to develop hope and recovery.

We offer peer support. We are people who have lived and /or shared experience with mood disorders who support each other. One in five people will experience a mood disorder (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, trauma, postpartum, seasonal affective disorder) in their lifetime. MDAM is dedicated to offering support to individuals and their families. MDAM has been helping people help themselves for over 35 years.

Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba

Our vision is to reduce the impact of anxiety disorders on the lives of all Manitobans.

The Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba aims to:

  • Offer self-help for all Manitobans affected by anxiety disorders
  • Provide Cognitive Behavioural Programs (CBP), and ongoing support groups for the prevention, education, early intervention and management of anxiety disorders to adults.
  • Provide resources for children, adolescents, adults, families, employers and health care professionals

Alzheimer Society of Manitoba

Founded over 35 years ago, the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba exists so that all Manitobans affected by dementia receive the help they need today and have hope for the future.
